ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the justifications for and practice of intervention by the United States in Iraq in 2003. It begins with an examination of the National Security Strategy of 2002 and then shifts to President Bush’s justifications for the war, following which the practice of war will be discussed. The chapter will conclude with a discussion of the implications of the case study findings for international society.1
