ABSTRACT
Political succession is closely connected to the nature of leadership and to the range of social and political factors that cause leaders to think and act as they do. With this in mind, this chapter sets out to examine some of the key factors that influence the behaviour of Arab leaders in the context of political succession and the rule of law.
