ABSTRACT

These difficulties are often perceived at international conferences and workshops where the discussion at the end of a presentation may appear quite problematic: speakers and reacting listeners sometimes seem not to understand each other and remain tied to their specific frameworks. The problem of the language adopted is also crucial, since researchers do not usually share the same terminology or the same meanings for particular terms. This problem becomes crucial when teams belonging to different research cultures have to develop a joint project for which they are to collaborate from the beginning. This is the case, for example, with European Community (EC) funded projects like Networks of Excellence (NoE).
