ABSTRACT

Maths seems to be the subject accompanied by the most resources, and it’s easy to end up with multiple baskets and trays full of the same sorts of items, such as various types of counting aids. Work out how much you realistically need for your class and then offer the rest to someone else, rather than allowing them to gather dust at the back of the shelf. Much will depend on the amount of room you have. Generally, it’s best to only keep resources in your classroom that the children regularly use. If other larger pieces of equipment and resources for future units can be stored in a central area, just bring them to your room as and when you need them.
