ABSTRACT

The sexual dysfunctions (SDs) that men experience, in order of frequency are Premature Ejaculation, Erectile Dysfunction, Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, Ejaculatory Inhibition and painful sex. The sexual socialization of young men emphasizes that sex performance is natural, predictable, easy and automatic. Performance anxiety based on unrealistic standards, as well as spectatoring or self-consciousness regarding performance, are core features of SD. Psychosexual skills include understanding that relaxation and sensuality comprise the foundation for sexual response and practicing the "wax and wane" of erection exercise during masturbation so the man does not panic when his erection subsides. Penile injection therapy involves the medication being applied directly to the penis by a tiny needle injection into the base of the penis a few minutes before sexual activity. Hypersexual problems can involve a variety of behaviors such as compulsive masturbation that interferes with the sexual relationship, serial pornography use, and visiting prostitutes.
