ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces a Yorùbá discourse on criticism called È làlò rò . È làlò rò  is a concept for discourse analysis and interpretation rooted in ethnic, historic, linguistic, and community rhetoric in native wisdom and local analytical pattern. By community, here I mean the local Yorùbá community. È làlò rò ’s conceptual application could include any community or communitites by using their rhetorical tool and discourse patterns in understanding cultural materials indigenous to them. The use of È làlò rò  introduces an indigenous African discourse strategy to cross-cultural critical practice.
