ABSTRACT
Morocco is rich in natural resources. Fishing resources off its 1,835 km coastline (excluding Western Sahara) are particularly rich; phosphate resources have made it the world’s largest exporter of this mineral; and fertile agricultural soil north of the Atlas mountain range was once believed to have the potential to turn Morocco into the granary of Africa.
