ABSTRACT
This chapter details the attempts of the authors to develop meaningful involvement with service users in a project that researched the development and utility of an out come focus in assessment and review work with disabled adults of working age. The strategies employed are discussed within the context of wider debates about disability research, the influence of the funding agency and resource constraints.
