ABSTRACT
The presentation of the drawings, diagrams and analyses within this book was intended to provide insight and inspiration, though not necessarily to produce clear-cut conclusions. The intent was to provide a basis of comparison and analysis, so as to prompt additional questions and provoke further exploration and research into past and future competitions – as well as the disciplines of passive design and architecture. The Decathlon is a vehicle for considering the relationship between architecture and passive design through a comparable, comprehensible series of investigations.
