ABSTRACT

Research supports and affi rms that the story of Latin@ faculty in the academy is a story of struggle (Delgado Bernal & Villalpando, 2002). Academic life is full of unforeseen forces pulling in contradictory and cacophonic cadence in which Latin@ faculty, in general, feel isolated (Delgado Bernal, Elenes, Godínez, & Villenas, 2006; Gándara, 1995; Padilla & Chávez Chávez, 1995). Yet, it is in the academy that Latin@ faculty make their professional lives (Yosso, 2006).
