ABSTRACT

Following the merger in 2004, the CPI (Maoist) brought out an elaborate document articulating its aims and programmes for the future. Seeking to elaborate ‘the Maoist vision for future’, the document, prepared by the central committee, was placed for approval by the party’s high command in September 2004. The exercise had the twin purposes of not only reaffirming their ideological commitment to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism (MLM) in perpetuity but also guiding their rank and file on strategy and tactics to be followed in waging a people’s war. The present chapter, drawn on a Maoist document on the strategy and tactics prepared by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in 2004, is an elaboration of the Maoist blueprint for future India. Inspired by Marxism-Leninism and Mao’s thought, the Indian Maoists seek to provide an alternative political discourse by challenging the ideological foundation of the Indian polity that has completely failed to establish an egalitarian society.
