ABSTRACT
There are a number of ways in which teachers can individually make connections with the home and community. This chapter looks at four different teachers who found a way to successfully bring parents’ knowledge into the classroom and, in some cases, to share school practices with parents. None of the teachers had attended classes or been in projects that emphasized the need or advantages of making connections with parents. Yet all were able to learn more about parents, their attitudes, and their knowledge.
