ABSTRACT
Jessica is 5 years, 10 months old. I have just tested her reading age using a test called ‘New Reading Analysis’ (NFER Nelson) and found that her reading score comes out at about age 11 and her comprehension age at the same. I do not hold great store by tests like these and the fact that I administered the test myself could, of course, be open to criticism. However, Jessica spends a lot of time reading and really enjoys it. I was interested to see if this was reflected in the test score.
