ABSTRACT
In this the last chapter we focus on how to improve learning by widening participation in higher education. Specifically here we concentrate on transforming institutional practices and on developing appropriate and sustainable pedagogies for social diversity and learning across the life course. We focus mainly on examples from higher education but our overarching conclusion is for the institutional practices and pedagogies to be developed in schools and colleges too. Vignoles and her team argue for school transformations most strongly.
