ABSTRACT

Chilean companies function in a modern, globalized economy, and as a result they are increasingly concerned about managing corporate reputation. Since 2000, a modern transport infrastructure, advanced logistics, and world-class telecommunications services have helped to eliminate the differences between Chile and the rest of the emerging world. Simultaneously, Chile has successfully opened markets to foreign investors. Since 1990, Chile has developed an expanding network of free trade agreements with, amongst others, Mexico, China, the European Union, the United States, and South Korea. These agreements have not only increased the distribution of Chilean goods in foreign markets, but they have also led to dynamic cultural and social exchanges between these countries and Chile.
