ABSTRACT
Many of the skills that we have previously touched upon find application here when
pupils think about the settings for their stories. Some of the teaching of writing that
I have come across in schools focuses solely on the mechanics of the craft while
ignoring what might be called the ‘organics of the art’. A major aim of this book
has been to offer guidance in the development of the organics.
