ABSTRACT

Read, study, question. The doctor’s understanding of the individual case and the analysis of the patient’s symptoms is more important than the lab report. As an example, to run a thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test on a person with several hypothyroid symptoms and pronounce him or her well if the test is in the normal range is not careful practice. This approach is used every day even though the textbooks of endocrinology warn against it. As an integrative endocrinologist, you must correlate the symptoms and functions of not just one gland but perhaps several. Thus, having more than one modality is important for the treatment to be effective and while changing the treatment course of an endocrine disorder.
