ABSTRACT

Following all the risk management opportunities and supporting project information provided to contractors and site workers, the fact is that there will always be risks to be managed on construction sites. The CDM Regulations 2007 define a set of high-level onsite health and safety standards to control risks and provide a safe working environment. These standards, defined in Part 4 of the regulations, fundamentally replace the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996, with the omission of the standards covering falls, now addressed in the Work at Height Regulations 1995 (see Appendix 2).
