ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to illustrate the type and form of contemporary build-
ings that can result from a design process which is participatory. Although only
a limited selection, the examples are illustrative of and support the view that a
participatory design process can produce architecture which is recognised as
having quality and thus participatory design processes do not exclude the pro-
duction of buildings which are seen as having merit by the architectural
community.
