Program Development and Evaluation
The ability to develop and evaluate programs is vitally important to the skill set of pediatric school psychologists. Because these professionals are invested in change at the population level as well as the individual level, it is essential that they have skills in developing and evaluating programs that can change behavior for a broad class of individuals. This chapter describes critical steps in program development, as well as types of program evaluation and methods commonly used to evaluate programs. Efforts to develop and evaluate programs are facilitated by effective measurement strategies and may be supported by grant activities. Chapter 7 provides a description of measurement development approaches and chapter 8 presents strategies to obtain grants to support programmatic activities.
