ABSTRACT

First, let’s discuss why it is so important to be clear on the difference between coaching and therapy. Many people discover that the process of coaching can work amazingly well for them in terms of making progress in their lives; allowing them to deal with and solve all sorts of issues and behavioural problems they may have had. Why, then, do we have to make a distinction and draw a very clear line between what a life coach can offer compared to a psychotherapist, or a counsellor for that matter? They are all about helping someone through talking. Surely the client doesn’t care what it’s called as long as it works?
