ABSTRACT
Cannabis is the most commonly used psychoactive substance in the world. It is derived from a bushy plant, Cannabis sativa, which is easily cultivated in the United Kingdom. It is used as a relaxant or mild intoxicant. The street names for the substance can vary around the country: bhang, black, blast, blow, blunts, Bob Hope, bush, dope, draw, ganja, grass, hash, hashish, hemp, herb, marijuana, pot, puff, Northern Lights, resin, sensi, sinsemilla, shit, skunk, smoke, soap, spliff, wacky backy, weed, zero. Some names are based on where it comes from, for example, Afghan, homegrown, Moroccan etc.
