ABSTRACT
Outcomes do matter and it is right that these should be the most important measures of whether a school is successful or not. Senior leaders, LEAs and governors should welcome school league tables and they should strive to ensure that their school is near to the top in terms of raw scores or value added. Examinations tend to be how we measure learning (‘delivering babies’); so examinations are the key component of school success.
