ABSTRACT
Jane Wooldridge, award-winning travel writer and the editor of The Miami Herald Travel section, has the varied and deep background required of successful travel journalists. “My first trip abroad was as a student in the month before I attended a study program at Oxford University; my traveling companion dumped me and I unwittingly ended up on my own. I was scared to death . . . but fell completely into wanderlust,” Wooldridge, a Duke University graduate, explained (personal communication to author, September 16, 2008).
