ABSTRACT

Collaborative working provides an important stimulus for the development of new forms of practice, indeed for innovation. Indeed, the relationship between innovation and collaboration is clearly a synergistic one, and we explore in the round-table discussion how the need for innovation also acts as a driver for collaboration. But in this chapter we consider first of all the way in which a collaboration may lead to changes in practices. We thus look to explore ways in which forms of working that favour emergence actually result in innovations, filling out this aspect of our model for collaborative working in higher education.
