ABSTRACT
The Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on 2 August 1990 was a defi ning moment in the modern history of the Gulf. It marked the end of one era and the beginning of another concerning the linkages and relationships between Palestine and the Gulf. The occupation of one Arab country by another unleashed some dormant forces and gave rise to totally new ones. The result was the polarisation of the entire Arab world.
