CHAPTER8 Using Existing Digital Games for Learning

Throughout, I have tried to provide examples of the different ways in which existing digital games can be used to enhance learning in higher education. Unfortunately, there are few examples of the effective use of existing games in this context, so I draw on examples from the school sector, and highlight principles behind the use of the games that could be transferred to the higher education domain. I hope that after reading this chapter you will have an overview of the ways in which commercial games can be used or adapted and have a feeling about whether this approach would be useful for you.
