ABSTRACT

Organizational roles are abstractions, conceptual maps that summarize the most salient features of day-to-day behaviors of organizational members. In public relations, the organizational role of practitioners has been one of the most studied areas in recent years (Pasadeos, Renfro, & Hanily, 1999). This attention to practitioner roles is due, in part, to the centrality of this concept to a wide range of professional and organizational antecedents and outcomes.
