Developing the vision and values for Every Child Matters Developing the fundamental values, guiding beliefs, vision, culture and sentiments existing among a group of people or within an institution is important in relation to Every Child Matters. Every Child Matters is an initiative that pervades every aspect of school life. It is important to weave the ECM principles into the daily life of the school, both in the formal curriculum and through a clear and consistent strong school value of care. A good starting point for developing a vision and values for Every Child Matters is to collectively, as a whole school/setting, respond to the following, in order to agree upon a shared vision and belief for ECM.
