ABSTRACT

The clausal conjunctive ~(㦒)Ⳋ is used to express that the first clause is the condition of the main clause. It is equivalent to “if” and/or “when” in English. It is a two-form ending: ~㦒Ⳋ is used after a stem that ends in a consonant (e.g., ⲏ㦒Ⳋ “if I eat”); ~Ⳋ is used after a stem that ends in a vowel (e.g., ⽊Ⳋ “if I see”).
