Tip 2: As a rule, the more you nd decits in superego and ego ideal functions, the less treatable the people you are evaluating will be with either supportive or interpretive techniques. It is probably not possible to quantitate how much decit should lead you to declare a patient untreatable, but there is a direct ratio between superego presence and treatability, other factors being equal.
