ABSTRACT
So, ten years on where are we now? Douglas (2007) describes the `current Zeitgeist in infant mental health [as a] move towards integration', and I think she is right. There has been a signi®cant joining together of psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory, neuroscience and behavioural ideas, and the wealth of publications in this ®eld shows it is an area of great interest and theoretical development, see: Balbernie (2001), Baradon et al. (2005), Douglas (2007), Gerhardt (2004), Tracey (2000).
