Thinking and intervening related to disputing
Disputing involves helping the client to stand back and consider whether or not her irrational belief and alternative rational belief are true, logical and helpful. As mentioned in the previous chapter, the major purpose of disputing is to help the client understand that her irrational belief is irrational (i.e. false, illogical and unhelpful) and that her rational belief is rational (i.e. true, logical and helpful).
