This book analyses the adaptation of business interest representation to EU politics by drawing on institutional theory, organizational theory and the concept of resource dependence. In a cross-level, cross-national and quantitative comparison, I have sought to consolidate, modify (when necessary) and enhance our established understandings of EU interest intermediation. The aim was to identify and explain the structured relations, the enduring division of labour, the rules of the game, and the predominant strategies and modes of political behaviour that have emerged within the EU institutional context.
