ABSTRACT
Large scale heating plants that serve several buildings from a single central plant is referred to as a district heating system. Such a plant can be part of a CHP system or fi red using a conventional boiler. In principle, it is similar to the installation serving a single building (such as the heating system for a dwelling), but large enough in size and scale to be able to heat an estate, a whole community or even a small town.
