ABSTRACT

This chapter continues to look at the five problems most sensitive patients face. In the previous chapter, we considered two arising from the trait itself. This chapter looks at three indirect results of it that are experienced by most sensitive persons: low self-esteem, trying to live like nonsensitive persons, and being unusually distressed by criticism. Suggestions are made for working with each problem. The second half of the chapter discusses the interaction of the trait with gender, age, and ethnicity.
