ABSTRACT
Everywhere we look in the world, people are suffering. I’ve visited slums in Calcutta, pubs in Northern Ireland, coastal towns in Ecuador, churches in New York City, rice fields in China; there is no place where pain is absent – no place where human and animal suffering does not exist.
