ABSTRACT

Container, breakbulk, neo-bulk, dry-bulk, and liquid-bulk cargo ports are ports where the prominent type of cargo handled is container, breakbulk, neo-bulk, dry-bulk, and liquidbulk, respectively. If neo-bulk, dry-bulk, and liquid-bulk ports handle specific types of commodities such as auto, coal, and petroleum, respectively, they may be referred to as auto, coal, and petroleum ports. Further, if a cargo port has more than one marine terminal, each marine terminal may also be described by the prominent type of cargo handled. For example, a container port may have several container marine terminals, one auto marine terminal, and one petroleum marine terminal. If a cargo port (or marine terminal) has more than one berth for vessels, each berth may also be described by the prominent type of cargo handled.
