ABSTRACT

Development as a theoretical and practical concept has been dying for a long time, yet its revival is always threatened (Chinweizu 1975; Sachs 1993). This is due largely to the totalizing capacity of the West, based on its control of media sources and resources; academic journals; web-based and print; and its would-be ability to reduce almost every human achievement or behavior to the particular experience of the West (Huntington 1993).
