ABSTRACT

Having completed essays and projects throughout your course, you will be familiar with techniques to locate relevant information. However, you may find that you need to ‘step up a gear’ for your project or dissertation. This chapter offers a reminder of search techniques and places to search to find literature for your dissertation. It does not deal with finding data; this will be covered in Chapter 6. By the end of this chapter, you will have a better understanding of:

• search strategies; • where to search; • how to access the resources you find; • what to do when you find the resources; • who to ask for help.
