ABSTRACT
In Poland as in other European countries the social science discourse on work focusses predominantly on aspects of work associated with formal employment and work in the shadow and/or black economy. Other aspects of informal work typical for our approach are presently framed in scientifi c debates on care, reciprocity, and volunteering.
