ABSTRACT

Sister Souljah is a black feminist, rap artist, and author of the book No Disrespect. Her semi-autobiography talks about her struggles and triumph to overcome negative stereotypes that have plagued African American people since the first slave ships landed. Her book employs African American people to become proactive and to find solutions for brainwashing and negative conditioning that confronts the majority of low-income African Americans locked into the cycle of pervasive poverty and disenfranchisement.
