ABSTRACT
In their study of female labor market participation during transition, Paci and Reilly (2004: 130) notice that much attention has been lent in the literature to women' wages and the gender wage gap (GWG since now), whereas little systematic work has been undertaken on the determinants of female labor supply. However, as well known, these two issues are closely related to each other and should therefore be treated jointly.
