ABSTRACT

At an abstract level, however, postmodern therapies can be said to have certain outcome goals, which include enhancing client re¯exivity, or self-awareness and capacity for self-change (Rennie, 1992); relational responsiveness and openness to others at core levels (Leitner, 1995); empowerment or a sense of ``voice'' in their lives (Brown, 2000b); and the enactment and social af®rmation of a preferred self-narrative (Eron & Lund, 1996).
