ABSTRACT

In this chapter we describe our approach to helping clients develop alternatives to their delusional worlds. We have emphasised in the earlier chapters of this book that the delusional beliefs of clients can be understood as part of a more general narrative about their lives and the world. This perspective carries over into our approach to modifying delusions. That is, rather than treating delusions as stand-alone beliefs, we deal with them as part of a more general account of a person's life.
