ABSTRACT
During his rule as governor, Abu¯ l-Khat ˙ t ˙ a¯r ˙ showed his prejudice against
the North Arabian tribes of Mud ˙ ar, so they conspired against him and
advanced on Cordova. He was unprepared but gathered his men and went out to confront them at Secunda.
