ABSTRACT
This book presents a diverse group of studies of international organizations in global environmental governance. These include international organizations that had to adapt to the emergence of environmental policy as a new area of world politics and that had subsequently to develop environmental policies (Part I). The book also features studies on international organizations that have been created with the explicit mandate to deal with environmental policies (Part II). Thirdly, this volume brings several studies on new hybrid forms of organizations that are based on the involvement of non-state actors in world politics, such as public-private organizations and networks and even entirely non-state organizations, which can be, however, analysed with similar approaches as international organizations (Part III).
