The verb form
The main verb in a Turkish sentence can have a large number of different suffixes on it. Each verb form consists of a verb, followed by a variable number of suffixes from some of the following grammatical categories:
• voice: causative, passive, reflexive, reciprocal • negation • tense: present, past or future time • aspect: perfective (completed), imperfective (ongoing) • modality: possibility, necessity, speaker’s attitude, commands, wishes
and indirect knowledge • person.
