ABSTRACT

Hiring is an important function in any growing business but it has been particularly critical for our values-centered firms. Conventional companies hire new employees based on a range of criteria such as professional competency, personal connection, and shared interest, among others,3 but our entrepreneurs have added an additional gauge-kindred personal values. Our research indicates that this criterion, while it may pose a challenge at times, seems to have served as a sound strategy for our values-centered companies.
