The Use of Group Work with New York City Firefighters Post-9/11

Group work has been fundamental to the Counseling Service Unit (CSU) of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) following the devastation of September 11. The diverse needs of the various populations served by the CSU led to the use of many different group work approaches. This chapter will critically examine the use of group work with one particular population: family liaisons.
